Use Timberline by GAF

Well the votes have been tabulated and Timberline Lifetime Shingles from GAF have become the first choice of homeowners for shingles. No one makes a better shingle when it comes to toughness, adhesion, wind uplift resistance, flexibility and fire resistance. The company continues to upgrade its warranties in an effort to exceed any competitor's coverage.

In fact, many of the laminated shingles now have a lifetime warranty, the first warranty of its kind in the roofing industry. Why settle for anything less?

High winds are not just a problem at the Jersey Shore. It is estimated that wind damage to roofs results in nearly one billion dollars a year in insurance claims and repairs. But GAF shingles are so wind resistent that they pass the industry's two toughest tests including Class F 110 mph winds and Class H 150 mph winds. And when it comes to hurricanes and tornadoes that cause more than $6 Billion each year in propert damage, you need all the protection you can get.

When you install GAF products, you are getting the very best combination of weight and performance that modern manufacturing technology can deliver. Trust Madera and Sons to do the installation right and bring a lifetime of protection to your home.

Talk about raising the roof!

It has been so busy this summer that we have had a hard time following up on some of the stories we love. And whether you are a sports fan or not, you may recall the startling video that showed the Metrodome roof collapsing under the weight of snow in December 2010. WOW!

Well back in July, the new roof was inflated and the Metrodome is back in business after a $23 million repair. Sports fans will be able to return to their beloved stadium. At the time that the dome was re-constructed, the players were still in a dispute, but it now looks like the season will proceed as usual.

One terrific thing about this development is that the new dome is not a simple replacement, but a high tech improvement over the last version. According to an article on MPRnews.com, " It has a new generation of fiberglass and teflon fabric, and the center sections have been reconfigured: they have extra gussets that make them stronger, Maki said. They also have a lower, flatter profile that will make them less susceptible to wind and help keep snow from piling in drifts along the seams between roof panels."

So way to go, Metrodome! A little thing like high wind and tons of snow should not affect anyone, let alone a multi-million dollar sports complex. But it is a fact of life that extreme weather is a concern for everyone. Another winter is on its way, so a home inspection may be in order. Call us today for an appointment.
